Have you been hesitant to book your first lash appointment because you don’t know where to begin??..Put your worries to rest as today we will talk about all you need to know before embarking on your lash journey. Knowing what to expect before walking into your appointment will put you at ease and make the your experience smooth.

Eye lash extensions are semi permanent, single strands of synthetic or natural fibers that are glued onto your natural eyelashes, using adhesive glue by a lash technician.

Lashes elevate your look giving you a more fuller, longer and defined lashes without the need of mascara.

There are three types of eyelash extension techniques:

Classic eyelash – one lash extension is attached to one natural lash. This is for a more natural and everyday look.

Volume eye lash- Multiple thin and light weight extensions are attached to every natural lash creating density but not too much length. This is more of a make up look and is suitable for everyone and those who don’t have natura lashes.

Hybrid eyelash- Combination of classic and volume eye lash extensions to add a bit of volume but still maintaining a natural look.

Your first lash procedure will take 1.5 hours to 3 hours depending on what style you are going for.

Before going in for your appointment, get your inspo ready,  make sure your lashes are clean, free of make up and discuss your desired look with your lash tech.

Eye lash extensions last 4 to 6 weeks but can go up to 2 months with regular infills.

Eye Lash After Care Tips.

The golden recipe for longer lasting lashes is after care.

Here is what to avoid:

  • Avoid rubbing or pulling your eye lashes.
  • Gently clean your lashes with a mild safe cleanser for the period of time advised by your lash tech.
  • Avoid water and steam for the next  48 hours.
  • Skip oil based products around the eyes as they can break down the glue.

  • Going to a trained professional.
  • Asking for a patch test if you have sensitive eyes as allergic reactions can happen.
